Ten manual plates run from an overhand to a bowline, a rolling hitch, a whipping, an eye splice tucked against the lay, and a turk's head. Each is proved on the load bollard, where a knot led the wrong side capsizes and renders in front of you — so you learn WHY the bowline holds.
