Lasca (Laska)
Emanuel Lasker's stacking draughts (1911), rebuilt as a high-craft template. It is net-new and, although it lives on a checkered board, its core mechanic makes it a genuinely different game from checkers (and from konane, fanorona, etc.): captures don't remove pieces — they build towers of prisoners, and whoever sits on top commands the whole stack.
